Welcome readers, here I'm presenting  my understanding about the word POST TRUTH with the help of some references and resources. A task(click here to know) given by Dr. Pro. Dilip Barad - the head  of the department of English, Bhavnagar.

POST TRUTH

Post truth - The word of the year 2016》
After much discussion, research and debate the Oxford dictionaries word of the year is POST TRUTH. According  to this post truth mean….

"relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal beliefs "

The term is also related  with two events - Trump and Brexit. In both campaigns, emotional appeals and feelings, and not facts (truth), were the factors for Britain leaving the European Union and the triumph of Trump.

According to Cambridge Dictionary Post truth is….

“ Relating to a situation in which people
are more likely to                  accept an
argument   based on their emotions and
beliefs, rather than one based on facts’’

We don’t see things as they are, we see things as we are. In this POST-TRUTH era, science is needed more than ever. The world has entered an era of post truth politics. People always see what they want to see rather than what is the truth. And always believe in what they see rather than fact. In this era FACT became FAKE.

There are possibilities to have different perspective to see one thing. But we think that the truth is what we can see and all  are wrong. We believe in our beliefs.

Example of Post Truth Politics with the Reference of The Movie--- super 30

Super 30 is a 2019 Indian biographical film directed by Vikas Bahl, based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar and his educational program super 30. The film stars Hrithik Roshan and Mrunal Thakur. In the film Anand Kumar is a lower-class student, and interested in studying and good at all in mathematics. A local minister proud of him and promises to him for help   He then gets featured in the newspaper for solving some tough Math problems. He gets a letter from Professor Richard of Cambridge University to come there. But, Anand he needs money to go there. He and his father go the local minister but he denies any promise and even he pretends to did not even know them. They both further try to have money but remain helpless, and get depressed.

We can see the post truth in politics in this scene of the movie. And it is also says that….

INDIA IS A HOME OF POST TRUTH POLITICS

From education to health care and economy, particularly it is slavish obsession with GDP. India can be considered  a world leader in post truth politics. India has been a Post-Truth society from years.(Resource)

  IN INDIA…..

Amulya Gopalakrishnan, columnist for The Times of India, identified similarities between the Trump and Brexit campaigns on the one hand, and hot-button issues in India such as the Ishrat Jahan case and the ongoing case against Teesta Setalvad on the other, where accusations of forged evidence and historical revisionism have resulted in an "ideological impasse".( resource - wikipedia of post truth politics)
